Team Rostering and Registration

SLUJ

The 2012 season is fast approaching and it's time to get started on recruiting, paperwork and begging for money. The season will be starting March 11th and ending with the State Championships on May 5th and 6th. The All-Star Game will most likely be held on May 12th. All league games are on Sunday.


This is the second year for our new website. In order to keep up on all that's happening, you should start by going to the "juniors" forum and hitting "subscribe."


In order to have your practices and games sanctioned (and to participate in this league) you must do the following:


A. Email Chris and let him know you plan to participate, and indicate where your team will be competitively. (You could do this now) This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .


B. Complete Online Rosters and have each player register with USA Ultimate (usaultimate.org). Each player will need to pay a $29 fee

C. Have all players pay a $10 league fee to SLUJ (You can mail them to me, or bring them to the Coaches Meeting)


D. For all USA Ultimate events, one* USA Ultimate approved chaperone is required for each team with a player under the age of 18.
The chaperone must be listed on the team roster. An approved chaperone is an individual who:

  1. has a USA Ultimate account (no membership required);

  2. has completed a USAU liability waiver;

  3. is 21 or older;

  4. has completed a background screening through the National Center for Safety Initiatives and received a "green light" (This process takes 2-10 days and is good for two years.).

G. Coach collects (and brings to each game) medical authorization form.

H. Order forms for jerseys should be submitted by the coaches meeting in order to receive the jerseys by the first game. However, jerseys can be ordered at any time during the season to take advantage of the league discount. Jersey orders are optional.



***All Rosters must be updated online prior to February 26th. Our coaches meeting will be February 22nd, 7:00 pm at Guidos.

New Teams should contact me as soon as you know you are going to TRY and have a team, because I can help.
